Engaging People

Social media is about engaging people in technology-driven conversations. Millions of these conversations are happening right now.   People and organizations who share common interests are being connected. What it means is that people all over the world are forging bonds, sharing ideas, making political decisions, and discussing and driving demand for products.

The merging of media, technology and telecommunications has created a new communications intermediary, giving regular consumers a voice…an opinion…an outlet. It continues to evolve, but one thing is clear: social media and other new technologies have the power to shape, steer, and drive discourse.

The Tools

Blog, Wiki, Skype, Twitter, Yammer, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, LinkedIn, RSS Feed are just some of the new media outlets and tools that are defining our times. These are very powerful ways to reach niche audiences especially when used in combination with great list management and other technology tools such as Webinars, podcasts, blast e-mails, and texting.
